Sarah Hutt is a Boston based artist who has been represented in numerous solo shows and over 80 group exhibitions throughout the country including: Boulder Museum of Art, CO; Michigan State University, Lansing; New Mexico State University; and Duxbury Art Museum, MA. She is currently affiliated with the Koelsch Gallery in Houston, Texas and a member of the Boston Sculptors Gallery in Boston’s South End SOWA District.
Her work is included in numerous private and public collections, including those of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge; McMullen Museum at Boston College; and the SUNY-Potsdam, Potsdam, New York.
As a working artist, she has received grants and awards from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the New England Foundation for the Arts, the LEF Foundation, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and others.
Hutt speaks to many groups and organizations about public art, balancing art making and life, art and the media as well as visits colleges and university to speak about these issues, provide critics and provides opportunities for interns through her studio and community work. Recent visiting artist venues include; Massachusetts College of Art and Simons College, Boston, MA; Samek Art Gallery, Bucknell University; and Rochester Contemporary, Rochester, NY.
In addition to her commitment to making art, Hutt maintains a consulting business working with developers, architects and artists to integrate public art, temporary and permanent, into the urban landscape. She is a long-time resident of the vibrant South End community; where she co-founded the first mixed use artist live/workspace from a surplus city owned building.
